Who we areThe Research in Education and Learning Lab at the University of Virginia is housed in the School of Education and Human Development. As part of the Applied Developmental Science program, the lab's research focuses on studying how children develop the skills necessary for science learning and critical thinking more generally. The specific areas of research include children's developing intellectual virtues, such as curiosity (our primary focus), creativity and open-minded thinking, intellectual humility and academic courage, and critical thinking.
We are always looking for families interested in helping us learn through participation in our research. We also are working to develop and nurture relationships with local schools and informal education groups, and have educational programs and professional development that can be modified to fit the needs of community groups and schools. We are often looking for students interested in research in these areas to join our team and help us learn more about child development! Please email us for more information: [email protected] |
Location & HoursOur studies are typically conducted by appointment. Please contact us to sign up!
Some of our studies have online/virtual participation options - let us know if you'd like to participate! |
